Subject: [RSG-OHIO] I miss Ohio
Work Sucks. I'd rather be: (in no particular order, *explanations to follow)
1 Striding around a golf course with my bag on my back.
2 Telling Thor <insert Thor voice and arm/hand imitation> "I like playing golf in Ohio".
3* Reaffirming RockPyle that he IS a good golfer.
4* Hearing people yell, "DEBAZON!" after every good shot.
5* Watching and listening to my husband amp up via coffee every morning to become *"Pacific Thor"
6 Getting a hug from Jean Pflum every day.
7* Laughing at Bill-o's comedic timing.
8* Getting chipping lessons from Mike and Tex.
9 Listening to Pat (wee-mon) hit my husband up for a chapstick application.
10 Wondering what Bob Patterson was going to show up wearing
11 Getting to see some of my old golfing friends. That is NOT a age slam!
12 Meeting new golfing friends.
13. Playing golf with John Pflum for the first time.
14* Being part of one of the best times a 13 year old ever had. (Get your mind OUT of the gutter if you please!)
15 Hogging down at Hoggy's!
Explanations
*3, For those of you who haven't met him, his heart is even bigger than he is!
*4 Matt, I'll need a different name embroidered on my RSGNW hat next year.
*5 Doug doesn't always wake up naturally perky. John and I were quite
entertained as the caffine did its magic and Doug became a one man
morning show.
*Watching Doug march across the green on Friday afternoon, Tex
commented, "Doug is just way too energetic" Someone else agreed and
proclaimed, "He's the Pacific Thor!"
*7 I was "played out" by the 18th hole of the final round on Sunday. My
Debazon skills were deserting me and my drives were less than stellar.
The first one skulled off to the left into some weeds and bushes. I
figured I'd find it, but hit a provisional just in case. Contrary to
what Chip says, (any asshole can hit a second shot), I proceded to
skull that one off to the right. Bill declared, "Holy Overcompensation
Batman!"
*8 I chose the 60 degree wedge that Mike donated as my prize for
"women's Champion". They were kind enough to coach me on how to use it!
(Mike, thanks again for the early birthday present as well!)
*14 I had the honor of playing Match Play Madness TM with Thor's son
Jacob. He was one up on me coming into the last hole, and beat me fair
and square when my approach shot got a little off the beaten track and
then found the pond, scoreing two for the Ohio team. When the final
group came in and the World vs Ohio was all square, Jacob and I were
picked to play part of the hole for the tie breaker. Jacob held out
under pressure and I couldn't deliver. He was grinning braces from ear
to ear, and Thor looked like he would burst with pride.
HOWEVER, the picture I have locked in my minds eye came after he
drained a stellar putt on #8 to win the hole. He pulled the ball out of
the cup and looked at me. I told him, "Great shot Jacob, you putt like
your Dad". His grin nearly split his face.

Thor responded ....
> 1 Striding around a golf course with my bag on my back.
As a certain pesky Canadian spoke to me on Sunday: "Why can't life always be this good?"
> 2 Telling Thor <insert Thor voice and arm/hand imitation> "I like playing golf in Ohio".
Or anywhere else with the great people that come to Ohio in September.
> 3* Reaffirming RockPyle that he IS a good golfer.
He certainly is a good golfing buddy!
> 4* Hearing people yell, "DEBAZON!" after every good shot.
